Introduction

According to the United States Department of Energy, about 24 percent of energy used in the United States came from natural gas in 2008. Natural gas is used to produce steel, glass, paper, clothing, brick, electricity and is an essential raw material for many common products. Slightly more than half of the homes in the United States use natural gas as their main heating fuel. Natural gas is one of the cleanest, safest and most useful of all energy sources, and is a vital component of the world’s energy supply.

EOG Resources, Inc. is one of the largest independent oil and natural gas companies in the United States with approximately 81 percent of our 2008 total company production volumes attributable to natural gas. With our operations largely focused on North America, our crude oil and natural gas exploration and development efforts will continue to help the United States and Canada meet their energy needs.
